This brilliantly funny novel about friends, lovers, and the secrets we keep has been described as a triumph, and from the very first moments it’s easy to see why. Filled with clever characters and told in a prose sparkling with humour, Caroline O’Donoghue perfectly captures what it means to be young and in love for the first time, as well as what it means to question everything you thought you knew about yourself. Rachel’s quest to manage her love story, unconventional and messy as it is, is achingly relatable and I found I was rooting for her as often as I despaired what she was thinking. A perfect read.
