Chai spice and honey infused water

Thirst-quenching and even boasting potential health benefits, infused water is a deliciously different way to hydrate. Try this delicious and refreshing chai spice and honey infused water.

Potential benefits: promotes digestion, strengthens the immune system.

MAKES 1½ litres

Ingredients

  • 5cm piece of ginger (fresh or dried)
  • 5 black peppercorns
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 5 cloves
  • 2 tablespoons star anise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1½ litres (6 cups) water

Method

Heat the water. Place all the ingredients in a large teapot and leave to infuse for 4 minutes. Consume a warm cup before bedtime, or for a gentle start to the day.

TIP: For a variation, add a slice of fresh turmeric and a pinch of nutmeg.
