Find your signature scent

Are you searching for the perfect perfume?

With so many perfume options available, it can be a daunting task finding the right perfume for you. But by taking some simple steps and practising patience you can find a scent that you love and that will love your body chemistry back.

Try to only sample two perfumes at a time – one on each wrist. It’s always recommended to wear a perfume for eight hours on your body before you commit to a purchase. As the perfume cycles through its top nots, heart, and base notes over the course of several hours, you’ll get a much better idea of how it interacts with your body chemistry and whether you’ll continue to enjoy its fragrance after the initial spritz.

Remember when you apply your perfume not to rub your wrists together, as this ‘crushes’ the scent. Apply to your pulse points, locations on your body where the blood vessels are closest to the surface. The heat from these areas will help release the scent. And, of course, avoid the dreaded over-spraying of perfume – there’s nothing elegant about having an overwhelming cloud of fragrance surrounding you.

Lastly, take your time when seeking out the right perfume. There’s no need to rush or buy what’s perfectly fashionable – just what’s perfect for you.

THE BEST PERFUME SCENT FOR YOU

There are many categories of fragrances. Understanding your preferred scents can help you narrow down your search.

Citrus

Energetic, invigorating, fresh. Notes of citrus fruits like grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin.

Floral

Romantic, charming, sweet. Versatile notes that can range from common daisies to rare orchids.

Fruity

Vibrant, summery, inviting. Can include anything from notes of coconut, stone fruits, berries to more exotic fare.

Green

Lively, earthy, elegant. Notes of a lush green garden; fresh cut grass, herbs, and moss.

Our favourite:

Oceanic

Light, carefree, ethereal. Similar to the scent of ozone of a summer storm, offers notes of ocean breezes, fresh washing, and morning dew.

Oriental/spicy

Bold, vivid, imaginative. Distinct notes that inspire thoughts of spice trade routes and adventure.

Woody

Warm, dry, and sharp. Often considered a more masculine scent, contains notes of sandalwood, cedar, and often patchouli.
